Food, service, and atmosphere all exceptional! Absolutely love the decor and lighting! UPDATE 12/26/24: stopped here again. about a year after initial review and just as awesome all around. And our server Whitney took exceptional care of us . We’ll be back when we next travel through the area.

My first time coming here. My daughter recommend because she has been before. The food was delicious and our server was very personable and attentive. This now my new favorite place for Mexican. Driving from Lagrange.

A nicely decorated restaurant in a somewhat empty plaza. The food was absolutely excellent! Normally my husband and I can't eat the salsa because it's too hot. Theirs was absolutely perfect. He and I both loved our dinners. I had the raspberry frozen margarita, excellent! I so badly wanted to have the fried ice cream but I was too full!

When we first walked in we were greeted enthusiastically by the host. They are very welcoming. We were seated right away and had chips and salsa before we knew it. The drinks come in small pitcher type containers. All of the food was amazing. Having been born and raised in Texas, we tend to be Mexican food snobs. Highly recommend El Maguey!

El Maguey Mexican Restaurant is by far one of the best dining experiences I’ve had! From the moment I walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff set the tone for a fantastic meal. The service was quick and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Now, let’s talk about the drinks—potent is an understatement! Their margaritas pack a punch, so be careful if you’re not used to strong cocktails. But they’re perfectly balanced with just the right amount of flavor, making them dangerously easy to enjoy. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The seasoning was spot-on, and you could tell they use quality ingredients. From the savory tacos to the rich, cheesy enchiladas, everything exceeded my expectations. The portions were generous too, which is always a plus. Overall, El Maguey offers an authentic Mexican dining experience with bold flavors, strong drinks, and excellent service. Whether you’re out with friends or looking for a casual date night spot, this place won’t disappoint. I can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu!

Simply, amazing. The service was over the top, the bar was beautiful and well stocked, and the food was delicious. From the homemade salsa to the main that I had, the portions were great and the taste was savory. The servers and host were very friendly and energetic. The atmosphere inside was absolutely stunning. This was a joy to dine at.

We stopped in on a toad trip for lunch. The lunch menu was great and the cokes are HUGE! it was easy to find gluten free options. The best part of our trip was our waitress Whitney. She not only is a good waitress, but she is funny too! 100% recommended. The atmosphere was really cool. The decorations were unique and we could hear the staff in the back singing along to their music. It was refreshing to go to a restaurant where everyone seemed to actually enjoy their work.
